Individual Therapy with Adults
Sessions are 50-55 minutes and are client centered and collaborative. Interventions will vary and be tailored to individualized needs. I do typically incorporate psychoeducation around the mind/body connection, an attachment based lens, somatic awareness/movement, trauma informed awareness, and a systems/social justice lens.
We will collaboratively agree upon the focus for therapy (goals) and frequency that makes sense and meets your needs.

Individual Therapy with Adolescents
I typically work with teens 14+. However, there may be exceptions for younger upon consult.
My therapeutic approach does not shift when I work with teens. This means the goals we work on are determined by my teen client, and not their parents. My role as a teen’s therapist is to support their well being and not neccessarily their parents’ idea of well being (however, there may absolutely be overlaps).
I do not currently provide family therapy. But if I am already working with a teen, if there’s a neccessity or benefit to inviting parents into session occasionally (i.e. monthly basis), I will facilitate that joint session. The teen will still be at the heart of these sessions, and I will serve as more of an advocate for the teen, rather than a family therapist in these sessions. These sessions can be an opportunity to facilitate open communication.

Somatic Movement & Regulation Sessions
Less talk, more movement. Because our bodies store our stress responses (and trauma), there may be times where working directly with the body and discharging energy through the body may bring the most relief.
I typically incorporate movement and somatic awareness into my regular talk therapy sessions, however, I also offer sessions that may be more soley movement based and body focused.
These sessions may be of particular interest to folks who are wanting to explore or deepen their relationship to their bodies and themselves in general, and increase a sense of embodiment, as well as folks who tend to lead high stress lifestyles, or have experienced traumas. These sessions may also be appropriate for folks who for whatever reason, it is a better fit to engage with somatic movement therapy than talk therapy.
